Caitlin S. Carvalho – Rehabilitation Technician
Caitlin is a certified Nurse’s Aide and Physical Therapist Aide. She
is also certified in CPR.
She is currently enrolled at Housatonic Technical College, working on
her A.S. Degree in science geared toward Physical Therapy Assisting.

Robin Culler – Rehabilitation
Technician/Front Desk
Robin attended St. Mary’s College of MD and moved to CT in 1989. She
works full time in the Speech & Language Dept. at Green Chimneys
School in Brewster, NY.
She has worked part time for Physical Therapy Arts for six years. She
is certified in CPR.
Robin lives in New Fairfield, has two grown sons and is an advocate
for shark conservation. |

Heidi Douglas – Massage Therapist, LMT
Heidi graduated from the Connecticut Center of Massage Therapy (CCMT-Westport).
She is accredited by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic
Massage and Body Work (NCBTMB) and is a licensed massage therapist.
Heidi is a member of the Connecticut Chapter of The American Massage
Therapy Association.
Heidi specializes in the modalities of deep tissue, Swedish, trigger
point and chair massage. She has 10 years of experience working in a
medical setting, supporting physical therapists and exercise

Lisa Dransfield
- Physical Therapist, MA PT
Lisa is a physical therapist who has been dedicated to serving
patients with dizziness, vertigo and balance disorders for over 15
years. Her Compassionate approach includes an individualized program
of vestibular (inner ear) rehabilitation based on patient history,
clinical examination and vestibular functional testing.
Lisa graduated from Ithaca College with a B.S. in Physical Therapy and
from Columbia University with a Masters in Motor Learning.
She is a runner who lives in New Fairfield with her husband and three
children. |

Dave Goncalves - Certified Athletic Trainer
Physical Therapy Arts is happy to welcome Dave Goncalves to its staff.
Dave will be the athletic trainer for New Fairfield High School.
Dave graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in
Athletic Training and a minor in sports nutrition. He worked his internship with
the UConn football and tennis teams, Trinity College and Manchester High School.
Dave is excited to work with the parents and students at New Fairfield High School. |

Karen Nell - Physical Therapist Assistant, CPTA
Karen graduated form Housatonic Technical College with an AS degree in
Physical Therapy. She has 14 years experience with a concentration in
Sports Medicine and Women’s Health.
Karen and her family live in New Fairfield. |

Denise Preusse-Office Coordinator/Rehab Tech
Denise attended Western CT. State Univ. and has spent the last twenty
eight years in customer service and technical support for various
industries. She has worked for Physical Therapy Arts for 4 years, two
years as Lead Rehabilitation Technician in the Brookfield office
before coming to New Fairfield as Office Coordinator. She is also
certified in CPR.
Denise and her husband Jeff live in Brookfield with their “baby” Elmo,
an African Senegal Parrott. |

Karen Schwarzchild – Physical Therapist, MAPT
Karen has expertise in the following: Evaluation and treatment of
shoulder and knee, pelvic floor dysfunction, neuromuscular therapy for
cervical injuries, pelvic stabilization, medical exercise therapy,
work injury management, treatment of headaches, neck and low back
pain, myofascial pain, industrial medicine, Paris joint mobilization,
Kaltenborn mobilization, McKenzie approach to lumbar spine, and
craniosacral therapy.
Karen graduated from New York University with a B.S. degree in
Physical Therapy and she received her Master’s degree from Columbia
University. Karen is the co-owner of Physical Therapy Arts in New
Fairfield and Brookfield. Karen lives in Bridgewater. |

Sandra Wilson - Physical Therapist, PT, Cert. MDT
Sandra Wilson is certified in McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and
Treatment (MDT) which has proven effective in treating many causes of
musculoskeletal problems such as back and neck pain, sciatica and
extremity pain. McKenzie treatment prescribes a series of
individualized exercises. The emphasis is on active patient
involvement, which minimizes the number of visits to the clinic and
gives patients the tools to manage their own pain.
Sandra graduated from Ithaca College with a B.S. in Physical Therapy
and from Western Connecticut State University with a M.S. in Business.
Sandra and her family live in New Fairfield and in her “spare” time
trains for Triathlons.
