Karen Schwarzchild,MAPT –Physical Therapist & Clinical Manager

Karen is manager of the New Fairfield and Brookfield offices. She graduated from New York University, with a B.S. degree in physical therapy in 1975. She received her Master’s degree, from Columbia University, in Motor Learning in 1981. Karen specializes in treatment of the spine and sacrum as well as headaches. Karen also has expertise in the treatment of other orthopedic and neurological impairments some of which include shoulder and knee injuries, neuromuscular therapy for lumbar and cervical injuries, pelvic stabilization, medical exercise therapy, work injury management, myofascial pain, kinesiotaping, Paris joint mobilization, Kaltenborn mobilization, McKenzie approach to lumbar spine, and craniosacral therapy.
Tina  Sheehan- Physical Therapist, OCS

Tina earned her Bachelor degree in Physical Therapy at the De La Salle University – Health Science Institute in the Philippines in 1996. She went for further training at New York University where she attended their Clinical Residency program in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. She is a board certified Orthopedic Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. She is licensed in CT, NY, and NJ.She has 15 years of experience in varied settings including: out patient, acute care, acute rehab, sub-acute rehab. Her continuing education has been more focused on eclectic evidence based techniques. Her passion is to help patients return to their full physical potential through education, therapeutic exercise, and manual treatment.
Susan Anderson – Physical Therapist

Susan graduated from Washington University in St Louis with a degree in Physical Therapy. She brings over 30 years of experience in various clinical settings. Susan began her Physical Therapy career at JFK Medical Center in NJ  working with the Traumatic Brain Injury population where she specialized in serial casting, developmental optometry and wheelchair positioning. After a relocation to Indiana, Susan worked as a School based Physical Therapist in the Carmel -Clay Special Services Co-op. While there Susan became in involved in Special Needs Transportation and helped establish an Assistive Technology Team.  A move to NY found Susan working in Sub-acute rehab starting as a staff therapist and ending as a Director of Rehab. During that time frame she helped establish a dedicated Rehab Unit and an Outpatient program. Throughout her career as a Physical Therapist and Manager, Susan has gotten immense satisfaction from helping her patients achieve their maximum potential. Susan has been licensed as a Physical Therapist in: NJ, IN, NC, NH and CT. Susan currently resides with her husband, 2 children and black lab in Mahopac, NY.
Nancy Merritt Carlson – Office Coordinator

Nancy joined the Brookfield office in 2003 as the Office Coordinator. She is the senior staff member and unquestionable “mother” of the office. Nancy has worked in the medical field for thirty years, is very knowledgeable/experienced in working with insurance companies, and will confidently be able to answer any of your front desk inquiries. She lives in Gaylordsville and has three grown children and seven grandchildren.

 
Melissa Pang – Physical Therapy Assistant

Melissa joined the Brookfield office in December 2015. After graduating as a Physical Therapy Assistant from Naugatuck Valley Community College in 2012, Melissa worked in both Skilled Nursing Facility and Outpatient settings. In 2014, Melissa took a hiatus from PT and moved to Sydney, Australia for two years and worked in sales. She is now back in Connecticut and lives in Litchfield and enjoys volleyball, traveling, and good food (which she later works off at the gym, of course).

Siem Brinn, LMT- Massage Therapist (Simpson Healing Hands)  

Siem has been a licensed massage therapist since 2011. She specializes in deep tissue massage and is certified in Ashiatsu Barefoot Bar Therapy. Siem is a compassionate and caring individual who has a real passion for healing people. She also has a history in the health field as a Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified EKG Technician. Siem currently resides in Danbury and has four daughters. She is originally from Southeast Asia and has also lived in Sweden. Siem speaks several Chinese dialects, Vietnamese and some Swedish.
